Configuring Bind as a secondary DNS server for the ispmanager panel
Why?
- To manage domain DNS records directly within the ispmanager 6 panel;
- To increase DNS server fault tolerance.
Instructions
For such a configuration, it's necessary to perform a typical BIND name server configuration so that the zones and DNS records are delivered to the secondary name servers. Adjustments are required to the "Options" section of the name server configuration.
Next, the main DNS server must be configured by creating the requisite domain name and associated DNS records via the panel.
As a final step, configure BIND as a secondary DNS server by making changes to the "named.conf" configuration file.
