Error working with secondary DNS server

Error working with secondary DNS server

Symptoms

When synchronizing with a secondary DNS server (DNSmanager), an error is displayed in the control panel:

Error managing the secondary DNS server https://<server_address>/dnsmgr. Failed to update the domain information.
Additional information: The “ field has invalid value.

The following error is registered in the secondary server synchronization log /usr/local/mgr5/var/ispdns_slave.log:

Error: Type: 'value' Object: 'dns_type' Value: 'master'

Causes

The domain causing the issue was created in the DNSmanager with the master type instead of slave type.

Solution

To resolve the synchronization issue, delete the problematic domain from the secondary DNS server (DNSmanager).

Next, follow the steps to re-synchronize:

  1. In the Slave name servers section, select the desired server and click Edit;
  2. Enable the Synchronize option and click Save.
