Domain opens a different website

Symptoms

A different website is displayed when navigating to a domain name.

Causes

The website request isn't reaching the correct web server.

Solution

Make sure the domain's A record specifies the correct IP address of the server hosting the website's content. You can check this value using the dig utility (for Linux-based operating systems) or similar web tools, such as DNS Propagation Checker or the Google Admin Toolkit. You can find the website's IP address on a server running ispmanager 6 in the Sites section, under the IP addresses column.

You can change the A record value in your domain registrar's (seller's) account. The change can take up to 72 hours, but typically occurs within 1 hour.

After making the changes, clear the website data in your browser or use Incognito/Private Mode to check the website's availability.
