Error «Failed to create a user group»

Symptoms

When attempting to create a user in the ispmanager 6 panel, the error «Failed to create a user group. Try again later» is displayed.

Causes

In ispmanager 6, when creating a user, a group with the same name is also created in the operating system. Such an error indicates that a group with this name already exists.

Solution

We recommend using a different username, as the one you entered previously may match with system users and groups.

If the username does not match a system user or group (e.g., you have previously created a user with this name in the panel), you can delete the group with the following command:

groupdel %USERNAME%
