User password recovery in ispmanager 6
Why?
The password recovery feature enables users to change their passwords without administrator's assistance.
Instructions
Administrator setup
To enable password recovery in the panel by email, it is necessary to connect the mail server in the “Settings” - “Notifications” section.
Fill in the following fields in the "Mail server parameters" tab:
- SMTP server address - the address of the mail server from which messages are sent;
- Account - the mailbox from which notifications are sent;
- Password - the password for this mailbox;
- SMTP server port - the port used to connect to the SMTP server (25 by default);
- Sender name - the name assigned to the mailbox;
- Server name - the name of the mail server, often the same as the value in the "SMTP server address" field.
PLEASE NOTE!
Mail server type “External mail server” does not necessarily require to use a remote server. It is possible to use the mail server of the panel.
